The Duke is back once again in a new FarmVille Banquet Fit for a Duke, a special FarmVille Atlantis Chapter 9 Quests. He is planning to throw a grand banquet to celebrate his next treasure hunting expedition but the trouble is Chef has just taken ill. He will need our help to stand in for his Chef.
This FarmVille quest is a special edition of the Atlantis farm quests for it will run for 30 days. I sure hope Zynga is planning on having coin-based farm expansions in Atlantis or most of us will not be able to complete this quest.
These quests are very possible with just the 20×20 farm, I completed the recent Enchanted Glen one with plenty of time to spare. If you’ve stocked up on instagrow potions that will help, but probably not required. Plus we now have the bushel swap to make crafting easier.
Hey Raphael,
I’d agree with you save for one thing, it’s not bushels that are needed for the crafting, it’s simple hours. Example: 12 hours each for 2 butter brittle then 6 hours for the sugar button, so 30 hours for EACH sugar button, and you have to have 6, thus 180 hours. Not like you can make a second sweet shop, and unless you’re willing to spend FV bucks (not happening!) you will not be able to finish. I don’t mind a challenge, but at least make it doable without spending real cash. And before you say “watch the ads” Zynga has been informed dozens of times that I stopped getting ad offers a year ago, and though they say the problem has been corrected, I haven’t had a chance at free bucks in a long long time. System is almost as broken as O’bamacare, lol!
At the time I wrote that comment I was simply assuming it would be similar to the Enchanted Glen quest, but now I’ve analysed this quest in depth (see my posts below) and determined it’s pretty much impossible without farm cash.
has there ever been a “beat atlantis” quest for a shipping license..
None so far. Many players are clamoring for it but there’s no sign yet if Zynga and FarmVille will gonna make one.
Startichokes can be grown on other farms! I planted some already so I can get started on the Sea Star Soup that we need to have up to level 26. I hope my friends buy a lot of it, or it will be the longest part of the quest.
I think the Firebreath Drink is going to be the main stumbling block.. first we need to get the Apothecary to level 13 (I’m currently level 10 and levelling it up is hard because of the long crafting times), then it will take 96 hours to craft, not including making the ingredients.
The size of the atlanta farm is going to be the least of our problems with this quest. There are a number of problems
Sugar Buttons (8 days worth) Even though they only take 8 hours to make, you need 2x Bubble Brittle (12 hours each) and the buttons are made at same place as Bubble Brittle
Firebreath drink (8 days worth) it requires 2x tickled pink (6 hours each) and 2x Peppy Potion (4 hours each)
6 Brie (3 days worth) each one takes 12 hours
5 Cloudy Conconctions (2 1/2 days) each takes 12 hours.
7 hair ribbons (1/2 day worth) takes 2 hours to make, but requires other items to make them.
That’s 22 days worth of non Atlantis things!! Yes, some of these can be prepared ahead of time, but expansion in the Sweet Shop and Apothecary has been very slow. I’m level 20 in Sweet Shop and lvl 15 in Apothecary, and have not received enough parts to upgrade either.
I don’t know about the Firebreath Drink. What about the 6x Sugar Buttons at quest 3? That takes 12x Bubble Brittle at 12 hours each as well as the 6x Sugar Buttons at 8 hours each. They are both crafted in the same section so, unless one has already made a stock of the Bubble Brittle, that’s going to take a minimum of 8 days (192 hours), and that’s assuming you can time them so that as soon as one is ready you can start the next one. At least with the Firebreath Drink all the ingredients are made in a different section. It’s obviously an attempt to get us to part with real money! RIDICULOUS.
I totally agree with the last 2 comments – in total on the major crafting items (not including the cafe) it would take nearly 20 days, provided your timing was perfect and you don’t sleep, and that doesn’t take into account how long it takes to get the Apothecary to level 13! I’m only on my 2nd Sugar Buttons and have a level 11 Apothecary with 27 days to go. Total cash grab!
Ok, lets work out how long the whole thing will take in theory, not including the Corral Cafe and for both a 300 plot and 900 plot farm cash expanded farm. I re-evaluated the time taken for the Firebreath Drink to 172 hours, though you could cut a bit of time off by preparing some ingredients in advance.

Also, with the first Firebreath Drink fully prepared in advance, they will take 140 hours, taking about a day off the total. Obviously, this quest is not possible without a big load of instagrows and/or farm cash.
I am not even trying this one. ON the guide list it says it takes 8 hours to do the sugar buttons, someone in Farmville wasn’t thinking this one through. Certainly not spending money on such weak rewards!
I was hoping to get to level 6, but sadly I haven’t even made 1 sugar button yet. Still waiting for my 2nd bubble brittle to finish. It may only take 8 hours to make the buttons, but all the ingredients take days to accumulate. Someone wasn’t paying attention when they made that level. Even 1 sugar button would keep us busy for awhile.
Has anyone’s Sweet Shop expanded the storage capacities without having to spend Farm Cash? I’m on level 23 and both of mine are still at a capacity of 10 each.
I’m still at 10 also, and I complete tasks in the sweet shop regularly.
Yeah, I’m at level 111. But I did finally get past stage 3!
Sweet Shop level 111? whoa! I thought I played it a lot. I’m in the process of making my 6th and final sugar button. They are not fun, so time consuming!
All told, to finish the 6 sugar buttons will take 180, yes that’s ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY hours, or for most people who work/have kids/etc about 10 – 12 days to complete. That is utterly ridiculous!!! more than 1/3rd of the quest allowed time to complete one single step of one stage. Farmville is getting closer and closer to being a deleted app for me, and I’m level 245, not like I haven’t enjoyed the game for a long long time. But wait, it’s been over a month, must be another new farm coming soon………….
Now that we’re done to about 10 days for this quest, how far has everyone gotten (without using any Farm Cash)?
I’m on Quest 9. I’ve used a couple of Instagrows to help speed things along. Trying to only spend time on the parts the crafting parts. Hopefully there’s still enough time to craft all the Brie & Firebreaths
Also on quest 9, with two bries done so far. I think I’ve used one instant grow so far, which isn’t a big deal as I never use them and have 150 saved up. I don’t know if this is doable as far as the crafting – I have one firebreath drink ready to go and I’m trying to get ingredients ready for the next one, but it’s tough since I only have 10 storage in the apothecary (and I regularly do the quests there and am up to level 23 – still need 14 parts to expand the potion cabinet). I guess we’ll see…I’m planning instant grows for the last 2 levels if I get there – especially since I have no coral or aquamarine bushels.
I am kind of irritated I’m only at level 23 – I might have to delete those firebreath drinks if I run out of space, and you need them to make an item for the Beat Mystical Groves quest…at level 25.
I’ve been using the bushel swaps to slowing get the aquamarine rose bushels. I’ve also got a firebreath ready and waiting, but still working on the brie.
My third firebreath is working now, but after this I’m going to have to slow down – no more ingredients saved up. I’ve been planting aquamarine and coral after finishing the required crops but still needing to craft brie and firebreath…slow going.
Finished 🙂 I think I had to use 5 or so instagrows, but no FV cash. AND I crafted some useless stuff in the apothecary to get to level 25 faster, so those firebreath drinks are being put to good use rather than just dumping them all.
DONE! No cash spent – just a handful of accumulated instant grows. It took a lot of planning, but I’m also retired and stuck around the house during a renovation so had the time.
